Love Handle Excersize-the Myths And The Facts

When it comes to getting rid of those unsightly love handles, there are a lot of suggestions.  Some sell “miracle pills”.  Others tell you exercises which can supposedly get rid of that stubborn excess.  The truth is that you can’t do a certain excersize to get rid of that love handle.  You must focus on reducing overall BMI (body mass index).  Let’s look at what love handles are, why target exercises are ineffective, and how to truly say good-bye to love handles.

Love handles are those fatty areas around the side of your stomach just above your thighs.  Each person’s body acts differently when it comes to fat storage.  Here are some of the places that people store fat: arms, legs, chin, neck, stomach, love handles, thighs, butt, calves, and thighs.

Because of this, there is no specific exercise that can get rid of love handles.  So many wish there were, and there lots of folks who peddle their products promising fast (or even instant) solutions and ways to target specific areas like love handles.  This is a myth.  Spot reducing areas of the body simply not possible—not through fat burners, not through exercise.  When you do exercises targeted to a specific area of the body, it firms, tones, and builds muscles.  But love handles are the result of excess fat, not insufficient muscles.  So you need to burn fat.  And since each person’s body is different, there’s no way to control where your body will begin burning fat first.

So it basically comes down to doing it the natural, old fashioned way—full body exercise.  You’ll need to reduce your entire body mass index, which calculates how much of your body weight is contributed to fat.  The good news is that you don’t need a fancy home gym to get rid of those love handles.  In fact, you can do plenty of exercises without a single piece of equipment!  You can do lateral lifts and cardio fitness (running, jogging, and sprinting).  You can go swimming, hiking, or do jumping jacks.  There’s running up and down stairs, doing push-ups, curl-ups, and pull-ups.  The possibilities are endless!

Of course, no amount of exercise can be effective unless you’re willing to make a commitment to it.  You must also commit to changing your nutritional habits.  Healthy eating promotes good digestion and will keep you from counteracting those efforts through excersize.  Your body is your responsibility—treat it right and you’ll not only get rid of those love handles, you’ll live a long, happy, and productive life.
